Interview w Kyle Carrero Lopez for Lambda Lit

I sat down with Kyle Carrero Lopez, a poet whose work “centers power, social life, and Afro-Cuban histories,” to discuss the writing process and prevalent themes of my short story collection. Check out his chapbook Muscle Memory (cover art below). I love this couplet which ends his poem “Untitled (Havana, 2000)”:

a man who thinks himself rain 
would claim any old flood was just
